MESOTHERAPY
INTRODUCTION
A technique where microinjections deliver tiny quantities of active substances to the living cells in the ‘mesoderm’ middle layer of the skin, for the purpose of addressing and supporting some of the aspects of skin ageing, such as loss of elastin, collagen and hydration. This procedure is particularly beneficial in addressing skin preservation by taking action at an earlier age to help delay the onset of skin damage as long as possible.
The goal in hair loss androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata is firstly to try and stop acute hair loss, strengthen and revitalise the existing hair follicles and lastly regenerate new hair growth.
Different mesotherapy mixtures are used depending on clinical indication and concerns. It is of considerable benefit being able to bespoke mesotherapy blends and target specific skin issues. Typically, mesotherapy mixtures include a combination of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, peptides, brightening agent’s and hyaluronic acid.
Michel Pistor, a French doctor developed the basics of mesotherapy in 1952 and his motto was:
Use only little – Only seldom – But in the right place!

FAQ
.
HOW DOES MESOTHERAPY WORK?
The idea is to administer substances in low dosages over an extended area i.e. face| neck| decolletage at a defined skin depth (meso = mid-dermis). The microinjections supply the skin with nutrients and substances to enhance cellular activity, increasing the ‘fibroblasts’ responsible for skins hydration, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
Mesotherapy is minimally invasive, requiring little downtime. Slight redness and irritation are expected and usually settles very quickly within 48 hours.
DOES IT HURT?
A numbing cream will be applied to the area before the procedure which helps manage any discomfort
IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?
Yes. Temporary side effects can include; swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness which settle very quickly.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Depending on the size of area; 45 –60 minutes.

No. This treatment is progressive therefore results are not immediate and work over time, where there will be gradual changes in skin status.
WHO CAN HAVE THE TREATMENT?
It’s considered safe for most people over the age of 18 years old, who are in overall good health and is suitable for all skin types. The procedure is not permitted with the use of certain medications, women who are pregnant/breastfeeding or known allergy to any of the ingredients.
