Our client Daniel has written up a review of his experience of RadioFrequency Microneedling treatment at our clinic treated by Nurse Jacqui Hall and we wanted (with his permission) to share this with you:
‘Well at 53. I decided it’s time to bite the bullet and try something a bit different . Now, don’t get me wrong I look after my skin I slather on my SPF multiple times a day , use my retinoids on a night time and my Vitamin C in the day time . However as I’m sure we all know skin care can only do so much . My skin is good 🙂 but I’ve been through a particularly hard time recently and I was amazed how much stress can affect the body as a whole . My skin just looked tired a bit more lined , maybe not as firm as it did and in need to a real boost .
So I went to see my favourite Aesthetic Nurse – Jacqui . We had our regular chat with a coffee in her clinic and she introduced me to a new machine! I like my skin machines and own a few . Yes I will write another blog and tell you all about them soon. This machine is an in clinic only treatment . Jacqui explained it was like Microneedling but with this machine as the needles enter the dermis where Radiofrequency energy is released to further stimulate the skins natural healing collagen production process and thickening of the skin ! Also because the process does this heating columns of the skin rather than larger areas; the skin remains in tact ! So no real down time is another bonus ! The collagen / dermal matrix is stimulated and the skin remodels itself down deep down !! Also the needle depth and amount of energy used can be personalised to the clients needs !! Wrinkles , scars , stretch marks , skin laxity , crepey skin .
So of course I say let’s do it.
Numbing cream was applied to my face for half an hour. This is a necessity to make the treatment more comfortable !
After half an hour my skin was cleaned and prepared .
Jacqui then got the machine ready for me . The special tip was placed on the machine I laid down and we were ready for action . The 25 gold plated needles very quickly entered the skin and the Radio Frequency energy released . This was done all over my face even close to my eyes and under my eyes . It took about 30 minutes .
Was it painless I hear you ask?
It was uncomfortable but very bearable . Two passes were done over my full face . It can be done on the neck, chest and hands .
Straight after my treatment my skin was very red and the skin felt hot . There was a little bit of swelling just under my eyes . A magical mixture was then applied to my face ( I purchase this separately and this stuff is real magic – Calecim Professional Pink Ampoule – Medifine sell it ! I will also do a review later on this)
I took a photo an hour after a lot of the redness had gone and the swelling looked better .
I did not touch my skin at all until the next morning . I used water to cleanse and some Avene thermal water . Then I applied a couple of drops of my Calecim Professional serum . I did this for the next 3 days . I stopped all my active skin care so no Retinoids, Vitamin C, AHA acids etc. I just applied my Calecim day and night and a sunscreen in the day .
After 4 days my skin had these teeny little scabs all over not noticeable really unless you looked very close up . These were the puncture marks healing . I took a picture for you so if you look closely you can see slightly the little markings . My skin had a slight sunburned look .
On a night time I used another hero product the Calecim Night Recovery complex over my Calecim Professional Drops . This these products gave my skin the perfect nutrients to heal so quickly and grow even more collagen etc .
After 7 days all had healed ! My skin absolutely glows ! It’s smooth, firm , lifted and juicy. The lines around my eyes look far better . I’m so impressed ! So I’m having the course of three treatments . After that you only need a top up to maintain the results . I started my usual skin care after 8 days .
There we go . No too bad for 53 . Will keep you all updated and I will write some more on another treatment I’ve just tried and need to talk about ! The magic of Polynucleotides and how it’s taking the skin anti ageing treatment by storm !
