Congratulations to our Facial Therapist Lucy Hall for completing the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k Run on Sunday 15th November 2015 and raising money for the charity Age UK. The race saw Lucy take to the streets of Leeds with thousands of others runners all hoping to make it to the finish line in good time. Unfortunately, the weather was not on their side with lots of rain and wind (I suppose we shouldn’t of expected anything less from a November day in England). Despite the weather, the spirits amongest the runners was high and everyone was raring to go when the race officially started at 9.40am. The route itself is known for being flat and fast but if anything this just adds more pressure for runners to achieve their personal best times. Lucy was hoping to finish the race under an hour, so was very happy for a finishing time of 56.53. Good work.
Along with a great time, Lucy raised money for Age UK. The charity aims to improve later life for everyone. Their research has already seen significant breakthroughs in many important age-related issues including dementia, stroke, falls prevention & incontinence. Age UK inspires, enables & supports older people so that they can make the most of later life. So the money raised will go towards helping this great charity in achieving their aims.
