Rosacea Treatment Leeds
Medifine offer a range of different treatments for rosacea. One of the treatment options is Laser Therapy.
What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a common but poorly understood long-term skin condition that mainly affects the face. It can be controlled to some degree with long-term treatment.
Symptoms often begin with episodes of flushing, where the skin turns red for a short period, but other symptoms can develop as the condition progresses, such as:
- burning and stinging sensations
- permanent redness
- spots (papules and pustules)
- small blood vessels in the skin becoming visible
Rosacea is a relapsing condition, which means there are periods when symptoms are particularly bad, but less severe at others.
Laser Treatment
For patients with visible blood vessels, laser treatment can be used to shrink them. The treatment uses brief pulses of light energy, which target only the blood vessel, leaving surrounding skin unharmed.
Other Treatment options alongside Laser
There’s currently no cure for rosacea, but treatment can help control the symptoms. As well or alongside laser you want to consider:
- Skin care – we offer active skin care that can really help minimise the symptoms of rosacea
- Avoiding any known triggers such as exposure to sunlight, alcohol, caffeine and strenuous exercise.
- Consult your GP for oral medication
What are the costs of laser?
Prices vary depending upon the size of area required to be treated. To give you an idea of costing – small patch area is priced from £70, nose area is priced from £100.
Is it safe?
The Harmony XL Pro™ AFT™ & Dye-VL™ system is clinically proven to be both safe and effective. Treatment is suitable for most people. However, prior to treatment a free consultation is carried out during which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. You will be asked to give informed consent and a small test patch will be carried out at least 24 hours prior to your first session. Please note that test patches are charged at £25.
